Newly-engaged Jenny McCarthy's yellow sapphire engagement ring caught our attention for three reasons: It's gigantic, gorgeous, and totally unique. And apparently, her future husband Donnie Wahlberg went to great lengths to find a gem that would impress The View co-host.
"He said, 'If we were going to get engaged, what ring would you want?" McCarthy tells People. "I said I wouldn't want a big diamond; I've done it. I like sapphires for their meaning, their meanings behind it. Then he went and surprised me!"
Though they've only been engaged less than two weeks, McCarthy has already dived into the wedding planning process. From her dress to the venue and date, it seems she is thinking about nearly everything — and who can blame her? Wahlberg has turned out not only to be the man of her dreams, but the perfect father-figure for her 11-year-old son, Evan.
"I kept thinking as Donnie got on his knee, Evan will remember this for the rest of his life and know how to do it, know how to treat a woman, know the right person to do it with," McCarthy gushes of Walhberg's decision to include her son in the proposal.

The couple was considering tying the knot as early as August, but McCarthy admits that her desire for a spring wedding will likely force them to hold out until next year. One thing they won't have to compromise on? Location! Both the bride and groom agree that New York nuptials are the obvious choice — with family coming from Chicago and Boston, the central location is convenient for everyone.
While they'll have people flying in from all over the country to watch them say "I do," the pair still hopes to keep things intimate. "I'd like a small wedding," Wahlberg tells Us Weekly. "A perfect wedding for me would be Jenny, myself, and our three boys... As long as she's there, I'm there."
McCarthy is also talking about her dream dress, which definitley won't be a ball gown and will possibly be designed by Amsale. Plus, it probably won't be a traditional color. "I love that pink has been done, but I can't do it," the second-time bride-to-be tells People. "White is a little too white. Ivory I think possibly, for my age."
And while McCarthy focuses on finding her gown, Wahlberg is handling another aspect of planning: the food. Apparently, the former New Kid already has ideas for favors. A "to-go bag" of Wahlburgers (a speciality from his new burger chain).
