Traditionally, boutonnieres and corsages are given to members of the wedding party, close family members, ushers, and ceremony readers as a way to honor them during the wedding. But essentially everyone loves flowers, so why not give every guest their own floral accessory? More and more couples are creating a DIY station where guests can create their own boutonniere, corsage, or floral crown to wear throughout the ceremony and reception. It's a fun way to keep guests busy, plus, your wedding photos will wind up being full of color and whimsy.

Here, a few examples of real brides' floral stations.

At Jill and Matt's wedding (she and a friend co-own the wonderful San Francisco flower shop Studio Choo), she made boutonnieres, corsages, and hair pins out of assorted silk flowers and vintage fixings in the weeks leading up to the wedding and displayed them, along with fresh blossoms, for the guests to put on as they entered the wedding venue.

For their laid-back Oregon wedding, the bride and groom set up a "build your own corsage" table so guests could create their own rustic floral crown or boutonniere to wear during the celebration.

And lastly, at Natalie Bowen's wedding (she's another talented florist also based in San Francisco), she set out trays of freshly cut flowers, along with hair pins, boutonniere pins, and a sign encouraging guests to get creative. You'll get a kick out of seeing everyone wearing flowers in their own unique way.
