Want Need Love Picks for Artsy Brides

In the world of weddings, an artsy bride is kind of a rare, wonderful breed. (Admittedly, there's some pressure to go the classic route.) And while we love the classic bride and her elegant, crisp wedding, we also dig the boho girl who wants a groovier organic look with painterly details and nods to her design-hunting lifestyle. So we had a blast finding a few cool items for her year as the bride-to-be.

The Invite
First off, we found the perfect high-aesthetic/low-cost engagement party invite: "Coupling," by famous West Coast interior and fashion designer Kelly Wearstler. (The invite was named before Gwyneth and Chris's breakup, BTW.) It's part of Wearstler's first wedding collection, launched just a few weeks ago on Paperless Post. "[The collection] mixes the raw with the refined and evokes a handsome luxury and soulful spirit," she says. We really like the sound of that.

The Bachelorette Party
Next up, the bachelorette party — in Paris, of course. Where to stay? We're blown away by this amazing duplex on Rue Charlot in Le Marais. It's for rent via OneFineStay, a sort of upscale Airbnb that lets you shack up in gorgeous private homes in New York, London, and — as of fall 2013 — Paris and L.A. when their owners are out of town. The Rue Charlot property is located in the city's most fashiony nabe, sleeps up to five of your besties, and is just a 10-minute walk from Centre Pompidou, France's national museum for modern art. Tip: OneFineStay doesn't accept reservations for parties, so don't broadcast the fact that you're there to celebrate your last days as a single lady. Drink your French 75s responsibly, ladies.

The Registry
We went for something splashier than white-on-white bone china. This splatter-painted stoneware by one of Australia's most renowned indie design studios also comes in blue or black — but we love the pink!

The Day-Of Detail
We're obsessed with these hand-marbled ribbons that New York-based book-and-textile artist Natalie Stopka started making this year. They're great for wrapping gifts, favors, and glass votives — but we really like them for tying romantic bridesmaids' bouquets.

The Dress
Even though this super-feminine '20s-style ethereal gown by Temperley was first shown in 2008, its beauty is timeless (love the cutouts!), so much so that it was chosen to be part of London's Victoria & Albert Museum's exhibit "Wedding Dresses 1775-2014," debuting this coming Saturday, May 3. Displayed chronologically over two floors, bridal attire is the sole focus of the exhibit, which celebrates designs by Jenny Packham, Vivienne Westwood, John Galliano, Christian Lacroix, Lanvin, and Vera Wang. For the quintessential artsy wedding, wear a work of art.
