From the best wedding dress styles available to the latest designer trends to finding the best gowns for your body type, we're talking about the ins and out of wedding dress shopping with bridal boutique owners from across the country. They're sharing their top insider secrets, hottest local intel, and everything else you'll need to have a blast finding your wedding dress (Think mani-pedi with your mom, brunch with your bridesmaids, and cocktails with your besties!).
Owner Lisa Holdroyd oversees this 7,000-square-foot Seattle-based bridal salon across the street from the Space Needle.
Brides: First thing you ask a bride?
Lisa Holdroyd: We want to learn about her personality as well as the wedding details—the venue, colors, time of day. Then we look at her body type and start discussing silhouettes and price.
Brides: How do you approach a bride's dress budget?
LH: I want to know right away what the bride is comfortable with, price-wise. Trying on a dress that's way out of your comfort zone is a big mistake and can set you up for disappointment.
Brides: What's a popular request?
LH: Lots of texture on the skirt—ruffles or tiers of tulle.
As for where to explore and celebrate finding your dream gown in Seattle? Here are some hot spots Holdroyd suggests.
Brunch at Sky City: "This rotating restaurant is located below the Space Needle observation deck."
Celebratory drinks at The Pike Brewing Company: "Take a tour and taste samples at this downtown brewery."
