She's going to be one hot mama! Scarlett Johansson and her French journalist fiancé, Romain Dauriac, are expecting a baby, sources confirmed to Us Weekly and E! today.
Johansson was conspicuously absent from last night's Oscars ceremony, where her recent film Her was nominated for Best Picture. We hope morning sickness didn't keep her away from the event!
This will be the first child for Johansson and Dauriac, who got engaged last summer. She first stepped out with her vintage Art Deco engagement ring while promoting Under the Skin at the Venice International Film Festival in September. "They're engaged and very happy," a source told People of the betrothed couple at the time.
Since then, we've excitedly awaited any wedding news from Johansson (who was married to Ryan Reynolds from 2008-2010), but she has downplayed reports of an imminent marriage.
"I'm not doing any wedding planning," she told Good Morning America in January. That same month, she told People: "Being engaged is an exciting time to enjoy and to really savor," adding, "I'm very happy. He's my buddy."
Though she's been evasive about her nuptials, she has discussed desire to have children with certainty.
"I would like to have my own family, that would be nice," she told the Daily Mail in December. "They say it's never the right time and I am sure that's true, but I think you have to plan it like anything else."
"At some point it is something I look forward to," she continued. "I am fortunate in that I have had a long career—20 years—that has been very diverse. So, you know, picking a time to plan a family feels like something that I could do and not feel as though I was missing out."
Just like Christina Aguilera, Olivia Wilde, and many other celebs, a simultaneous engagement and pregnancy makes for a very exciting time. We're thrilled for the couple, and can't wait to see their future family and wedding!
