Paris and Rome are grand, yes, but the list of the most romantic U.S. cities is in, and the top five might surprise you:
1. San Antonio
2. Seattle
3. Knoxville, Tenn.
4. Miami
5. Alexandria, Va.
How does a list like this come to be? Thank Amazon.com. The company analyzed the purchase data of cities with more than 100,000 residents and determined how many "romantic" products were purchased from each (think: romantic movies, relationship self-help books, romantic novels, and sexual, um, wellness products). And, as it turns out, folks in San Antonio, at least according to Amazon, are the most love-oriented buyers in America.

Now, obviously, online buying habits don't truly give an accurate picture of the heart, but we still think the findings are fascinating. And, apparently, Washington State is for lovers! Four Washington cities (Seattle, Vancouver, Spokane and Everett) ranked among the top 20 most romantic cities.
The least romantic cities? Sorry, San Buenaventura, Calif., New York and El Monte, Calif.
And, shockingly (or not?), these love-oozing cities didn't even make the list: Loveladies, N.J.; Handsome Eddy, N.Y.; Loveland, Colo.; Loving, Ky.; Valentine, Neb.; Sweet Lips, Tenn.; and Romance, W.Va.
