Alfred Angelo took a decidedly more modern turn this runway season, with a collection that featured sleek pantsuits (hello city hall brides!), inventive capes (a welcome update to the traditional veil), and deep V-necks. While the collection was varied—, featuring romantic lace and blush wedding dresses, ruched mermaid gowns, and, of course, princess-worthy ball gowns—two recurring elements kept the series of looks cohesive: Body-conscious silhouettes and voluminous details in the form of rosettes, ruffles, and appliqués.

For example, luxe taffeta ball gowns were belted with glistening crystals, while otherwise sleek suits were embroidered with lace to soften the aesthetic. The designers blended blush accents with traditional wedding white, while a slinky charmeuse sheath was complemented with a voluminous rose-accented bolero and embellishment-heavy dresses were paired with airy overcoats. We also loved the use of newer necklines—like an illusion halter and a shimmering sheer one-shoulder dress.

Watch the exciting collection walk the runway in our exclusive video above and don't forget to browse Alfred Angelo's 2014 wedding dress collection in our slideshow.
