With effervescent tulle peplums, gently ruched bodices, and free-flowing silhouettes, Christos's latest bridal runway show was as ethereal as ever. Instead of sticking to their standby silk chiffon and tulle, light-as-air lace came into play this season as well. The design house focused on creating "fluid and airy silhouettes" with "feather like layers of tulle, point d'esprit, and lace." The mixed fabrics gave Christos's latest designs for the Fall 2014 season an extra romantic edge.
Illusion necklines, sweeping chiffon V-necks and fluttering cap-sleeves all added to the line's inherent softness. This season, it was all in the details: Lace was gently appliquéd onto a free-flowing layered skirt, a twinkling bejeweled belt added a dash of glam to an otherwise breezy creation, silk organza flowers were fastened on a few backs. And while the fit on many of the gowns felt freeing, a huge emphasis was found on the waistlines—extra eye-catching crystal belts and shiny satin-faced chiffon belts wrapped around the ultra-airy fabrics to help cinch the waist. Modern elements were found on the gowns as well. Peplum skirts, illusion necklines, lace-adorned keyhole details, and deep-V, revealing backs added on-trend touches to the angelic wedding dresses. We could imagine these designs just as easily on a Mediterranean beach as we could in a swanky city loft wedding or a springtime garden affair.
