Ellen DeGeneres usually fields Hollywood marriage stories on her daily talk show, but earlier this week, she was the one addressing relationship rumors.

On Wednesday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the host reaffirmed that she is "happily married" to her wife of five years, Portia de Rossi, despite recent whisperings to the contrary. And in true Ellen fashion, she made her case in perhaps the most charming way possible.
"The other day I'm at the hair salon getting these extensions," DeGeneres began. "And there's tabloids all over the hair salon—that's where they are, I guess. All of a sudden I notice one sitting on the counter in front of me [and] it caught my eye because Portia and I were in the top right-hand corner and I thought, 'Oh, that's sweet, they're honoring us.'"
Of course, anyone who appears in a tabloid knows it's usually not an honor—DeGeneres included. She continued, "And then I read the headline underneath and it said 'Ellen and Portia's Marriage Crumbles.' I was like, 'Oh, what happened? They seemed so happy."

Though she told the story in her trademark sheepish manner, she made a serious comment that she never reads tabloids because "I don't like letting that energy in." DeGeneres then shot down the rumors once again.
"There's not one ounce of truth to any of it," she said. "I am very happily married. The only thing we ever argue about is who loves who more, it really is true. And...we argue if we would let a kangaroo carry us in a pouch for a year."
She also firmly told her audience and fans that should anything happen with her personal life, she'll be up-front about it on her show. "If there's anything you need to know," she said, "I will announce it here first."
In between her show's lightheaded moments (those dance moves are enough entertainment to last us a lifetime), we appreciate her candor. After coaxing stars like Tom Hanks and Keith Urban to share intimate details of their marriages and hosting a fake wedding for Kaley Cuoco, she's learned a thing or two about being honest on TV. Keep it coming, Ellen!
