We will finally hear wedding bells for April Kepner during tonight's Grey's Anatomy season finale, but will her nuptials go off without a hitch?

Fans of the show do have reasons to be doubtful. In past seasons' weddings, we've seen the bride get abandoned, weddings called off, and Post-It vows in lieu of a ceremony. (Okay, this one was kind of cute).

Like most brides-to-be, April's (Sarah Drew) wedding planning has been an uphill battle. Fans have watched the loveably neurotic April deal with wedding pressure since her flash-mob proposal earlier this season. With a hectic work schedule, family tension, and somewhat awkward relationship counseling, April's path to the aisle seemed relatively normal.

Yet tonight's episode is sure to be more typical of the Grey's Anatomy we have gown to know and love. Showrunner Shonda Rhimes has set the stage for the potential of a wedding meltdown in the midst of a series of disasters at Grey-Sloane Memorial Hospital.

After firing her sisters as bridesmaids in last week's episode, the bride-to-be is relying on the help of two fueling best friends, Meredith and Cristina, as well as Arizona, who is in the middle of her own marriage crisis. Previews indicate that other Seattle doctors will be too preoccupied with their own problems to help Kepner manage wedding-day stress.

But there is still reason for fans of the long-running drama to breathe a sigh of relief. Promo photos released by ABC show April in an illusion, lace, A-line wedding dress, flanked by pink-clad bridesmaids, and smiling at Matthew, her handsome husband-to-be.

Noticeably missing, however is April's best friend and past-boyfriend, Jackson Avery. Last week, in a moment of peace making, Matthew extended a wedding invitation to our favorite plastic surgeon. We'll be anxiously watching tonight to see if Jackson turns up to witness his former flame tie the knot.

If you need another reason to tune in for tonight's finale, Rhimes has included a heart-warming twist in tonight's episode: April's on-screen father will be played by Drew's real-life dad, who escorted her down the aisle 11 years ago for her own wedding. Don't forget to bring out the tissues!
