"King James" finally has his queen! Two-time NBA MVP LeBron James married his high school sweetheart, Savannah Brinson, on Saturday.
According to KFMB-TV, hundreds of guests joined James and Brinson at the Grand Del Mar resort in San Diego for a top-secret 4:30 p.m. ceremony.
The Miami Heat player and his wife welcomed friends and family to the celebration with a barbecue on Friday evening, and wrapped up the festivities with a farewell brunch on Sunday.
Among those at the ceremony at the resort's Capella Chapel were James's teammates Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade (who brought girlfriend Gabrielle Union), Heat owner Micky Arison, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra, and NBA players Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony.
Details like the bride's wedding dress and the cake are still under wraps. The three-day celebration was reportedly planned by celebrity wedding planner Preston Bailey, the brains behind countless star-studded nuptials, including that of Silicon Valley mogul Sean Parker.
James popped the question to Brinson, with whom he has two children, at a party on New Year's Eve 2011, and admitted on Oprah's Next Chapter that his pre-proposal nerves made the event feel "like a finals game."
Even with the endless guest list and what was surely an over-the-top reception, it sounds like the couple went to great lengths to make it an inclusive, family-friendly weekend. Congrats to the happy couple!
