The best man is super-shy and is really dreading giving the toast. Can he just skip it?
The best man has to give a toast—it's one of the main parts of his job. Thankfully, it doesn't need to be a State of the Union address; in fact, he should keep it short and sweet—two minutes, tops. To increase his comfort level, tell him he can read his speech from a card, and suggest that he rehearse it a few times in front of friends before the big event.
