Second marriages are joyful celebrations, but often entail special considerations. For example, what kind of wedding dress should a second-time bride wear for her big day? Our wedding etiquette experts are here to answer your second marriage questions our daily post.
I'm 55 years old and will be getting married for the second time. What type of wedding gown can I wear without looking like a woman trying to recapture her youth?
It all depends on the time of day, your wedding site and your figure. For a formal evening affair at a country club or hotel, you could wear a ball gown in pale silver, gold, blue or pink (skip girlish details like bows and lace); if you're in great shape, a long, body-conscious gown in pewter charmeuse would be stunning. For a more casual party, think about a knee-length cocktail dress in celedon or bronze, or a silk suit, if you're hiding any figure flaws.
