From how to pick the best buds for your wedding bouquet to tricky questions about working with your florist, our wedding etiquette experts weigh in on all things related to your big day.

I'm having an outdoor summer wedding—are there certain types of flowers that will hold up better in the heat?

Certain flowers are definitely more hardy when it comes to high temperatures, so look for flowers that are found naturally in warm climates like succulents, orchids, and birds of paradise. Garden flowers like tulips, hydrangeas, and lilacs are more likely to wilt in the heat due to their hollow stems that can't store water. No matter what kind of flowers you end up choosing, you can also take precautionary measures: store your bouquet in a refrigerated space before walking down the aisle and give your buds some TLC during the reception by misting them with water or setting them in a vase while not in use.
