Priya and Neil wanted to host an elegant city wedding that reflected their Indian heritage. After visiting the Chicago Cultural Center, the bride says they "fell in love with the beautiful Tiffany dome and mosaic details" and decided to celebrate their nuptials there.
Priya and her mother traveled to New Delhi to purchase authentic attire for the wedding party, including green chiffon saris for the bridesmaids. At the ceremony, Priya wore a dark red dress with antique gold embroidery and crystals, paired with gold jewelry and accessories that were also purchased in India. She changed for the reception into a champagne-colored dress with an eye-catching back detail.
The couple exchanged vows beneath a mandap (wedding canopy) during the 5:30 p.m. Hindu ceremony, held in the venue's Preston Bradley Hall. Afterward, the festivities moved to the rotunda for cocktail hour, where guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres, rosé Champagne, and sitar and tabla music. Guests then returned to the hall for the reception to dine beneath the Tiffany glass dome.
