Beaded Wedding Dress by Jenny Packham - Spring 2014

I'm normally not into beaded wedding dresses and would fear going too Art Deco at my wedding (lest the trend become stale soon after Gatsby leaves theaters), but this sparkly Jenny Packham gown could change my mind. I love the wispy flutter sleeves (bulky ones look ridiculous on my 5 ft. 2 frame) and the slim biased cut is super flattering. I think people assume you have to be pin-thin to look good in a gown like this, but I disagree. The fewer fabric swooshes, the better. The slight bateau neckline and all that silver embellishment means that I could go sans necklace and keep my earrings to minimal diamond studs—which is the way I like to accessorize (barely). The way the silver sequins streak diagonally and down the gown elongates the figure, too, which is great for a shorty like me. Its quiet glamour is pitch-perfect.
