There are tons of style choices for both the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom—short dresses, long dresses, sparkles, muted colors, the list goes on. What if the mother of the groom wants to wear a pantsuit? Our wedding etiquette experts are here to answer this question in our daily post.
Can the mother of the groom wear a pantsuit for the wedding?
It's fine if she wears a trouser ensemble, as long as it's in a dressy fabric like chiffon, satin, silk-shantung or organza. When it comes to the style, she should consider flowing palazzo pants and a matching top (perhaps with a little beading for an evening wedding). If she's in great shape, a smart satin suit featuring narrow pants and a fitted jacket is a chic choice.
