If you're on a tight wedding stationery budget, it's a good idea to consider one of the myriad stationers offering designs as a print-ready PDF. More and more online companies are offering this service, and it's a very wallet-friendly option if you're willing to roll up your sleeves and print your invites at home. How it usually works: After you choose a design, the stationer will customize the text with your wedding information, then email you a proof. Upon approval, you'll be emailed a print-ready file (usually a PDF), along with paper/cardstock guidelines. Then, you take the PDF and print the stationery directly from your home computer and printer.
This design—by one of my favorite online stationers, Up Up Creative—costs just $40 for the print-ready file. (You need to purchase your own cardstock separately.) The design was inspired by old book covers but is spiced up with bold, bright colors and modern type. If you're pressed for time and would rather have Up Up Creative print it for you, the price is $1 per save-the-date (includes envelopes).
