After an evening spent strolling Napa Valley's downtown Yountville, Robin pulled Mirna into the manicured courtyard of a Spanish-style hotel. "Suddenly, out of nowhere," Mirna recalls, "he popped the question along with something sparkly." Napa Valley immediately took on a special meaning for the couple, who would later shape their wedding into a formal fete fit for such a beautiful place.

Once the couple set their November wedding date, it was time to decide on a theme. "My initial design concept was romantic and classic with a dash of Napa Valley chic and French flair," Mirna says.

With a color palette of blush pink, ivory and splashes of gold, the bride picked color-coordinating details for every aspect of the day, from displaying a tea tin collection to adding elegant Chivari chair seating. "We tried to bring Napa Valley in by creating a relaxed ambiance, an intimate gathering with close friends and family and great food," she says.

Traditional Church Wedding Ceremony

A longtime admirer of Mission Santa Clara de Asis's Spanish-style architecture, Robin suggested the historic church for the couple's ceremony site—and Mirna gladly obliged him. "Despite being built centuries ago," she says, "it is just so timeless, classic and beautiful." The Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park would host their reception.

The bride's Monique Lhuillier ball gown was light despite its size, Mirna says. Its crisp chiffon layers reminded Mirna of "an upside-down rose."

"When I tried on this dress for the first time," Mirna recalls, "I just felt so comfortable and beautiful in it."

Cathedral Length Veil

It was love at first sight when Mirna tried on her Vera Wang veil. "I remember my consultant gave me a moment to myself after she helped put on the veil," Mirna says. In the silent store, "it felt like time had stopped. I couldn't help staring at my reflection."

Pale Pink Bridesmaids Dresses

Mirna and her three bridesmaids met in New York City to search for the perfect dresses to compliment the couple's delicate color palette. "Surprisingly, there are not a lot of champagne dress options that can work for all body types," the bride says.

When the women discovered Saja Wedding, they found floor-length creme-colored dresses that gave each bridesmaid a "flowy, airy, ethereal-goddess look," Mirna says.

From chairs tied with pink blooms, guests watched the couple's wedding ceremony, which included readings from 1 Corinthians 13. "It may be used a lot, but I always find the verse very touching and lovely," Mirna explains.

Though Robin rarely dances, he practiced for the couple's first dance to Fred Astaire's infamous The Way You Look Tonight. "I got to enjoy the romantic soft side of him," Mirna says.
