"Nate and I wanted our wedding to feel elegant, bright, and warm," says Stacy. "I'm half Chinese, so I also wanted to highlight contemporary Asian culture." She wore a gown by Le Spose di Gio, from Kleinfeld in New York, and her grandmother's pearl necklace. Nate wore a Prada tuxedo. Stacy's bridesmaids wore traditional Chinese qipaos made by Lai's Royal Tailoring in New York and carried bouquets of red orchids and dahlias.
The ceremony was held at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Capitol Hill, after which the couple's 170 guests celebrated with cocktails in the courtyard of the Fairmont Hotel. The reception was held at the Fairmont's Colonnade restaurant. "I loved that the space felt like a greenhouse, with wall-to-wall windows and a glass roof," says Stacy, who worked with Chantal Rotondo of Cherry Blossom Weddings & Events to coordinate last-minute logistics and décor details.
After changing into a contemporary qipao she'd ordered from a shop in Shanghai, Stacy sang Old Crow Medicine Show's version of Bob Dylan's "Wagon Wheel" to her new husband. "It's his favorite song," she says. "I completely surprised him, and everyone sang and danced with me."
