Carmen and Shane chose to hold their ceremony on the lawn of the Comus Inn at Sugarloaf Mountain, where they exchanged vows under a floral arbor. The reception was held in a tent on the inn's back terrace. "We wanted our wedding to have a rustic-chic feel," says Carmen. "The setting was so elegant, beautiful, and charming." Centerpieces included silver bowls filled with lush arrangements of roses, hydrangeas, and thistle atop table runners made of gray burlap.
Dinner, catered by the inn, featured Maryland crab cakes (the couple's favorite dish), pecan-crusted chicken, and pasta. "During dinner, our DJ challenged the guests at every table to stand up and sing a song with the word 'love' in it," says Carmen, who switched into a feather-and-flower hair comb by Hart Felt Art for the reception. "It was fun to see how creative everyone could be."
